Dr. Leo Chen performs carpal tunnel surgery, trigger finger release and other hand procedures for patients throughout Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Destin, Crestview, Mary Esther, Shalimar and surrounding Okaloosa County. Most procedures are performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to return home the same day.
Carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger are two of the most common conditions requiring hand surgery. Surgical decompression of the median nerve relieves carpal tunnel symptoms when conservative measures (bracing, injections, activity modification) have failed. Trigger finger release frees the A1 pulley to restore smooth tendon gliding. Wrist fractures may also require open reduction and internal fixation.
